Our Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Theatre or Dance offer a liberal arts focus with a more flexible curriculum. There are a wide variety of production opportunities for BA/BS Theatre and Dance students that will allow you to collaborate with faculty, guest artists, and fellow students across various disciplines. Our BA/BS programs do not require an audition or interview for program consideration and artistic admittance. However, auditioning or interviewing does allow you departmental scholarship consideration. Academic admittance is required for any program consideration.

What is the difference between a BA and a BS? A BA requires four semesters of a foreign language, while a BS does not have the foreign language requirement.

Our BA/BS majors have the same theatre core requirements but more flexibility in regard to electives than the BFA. A BA/BS theatre major is 55-60 credits within the major, a BA/BS dance major is 51-52 credits within the major, and both total 120 hours each when including University Core Curriculum courses. Double majoring is often encouraged for BA/BS majors (there are some exceptions) and adding one or two minors is also encouraged.
